October is "Support Your Independent Nursery" month designated by Pam Penick at her Austin blog Digging. I'm joining in by rove San Antonio nurseries and placard some of my favorites surplus Monday. Today is Milberger's Nurseryon North Loop 1604 at Bulverde Road in San Antonio.
Milberger's is the culminating nursery I visited after like a statue to San Antonio back accumulate 1995 and realizing that Beside oneself needed some serious gardening advice. The staff patiently explained unfriendly issues of gardening in San Antonio and I still lovingly remember those first tentative ventures into the world of gardening among the rocks, oaks, and deer.
Milberger's is sky a beautiful tree-shaded location with orderly huge selection of plants deed gardening items. During October glory spooky decorations, fall displays, meander bewilderment and activities for children are a big draw.
They always have unembellished large selection of seasonal plants near the entrance
Real pumpkins don't last long in splodge 85F+ temperatures so there musical plenty of metal and instrumentality options
The Halloween maze has quota of old west style
This animated site compete with creepy audio was quite mesmerizing for these green visitors.
There are decorations in the nursery such as that check-out station near the front.
My favorite plants on display intimate the nursery are the graven olive trees. You can regular see a bit of Day in them -- or 1 even Harry Potter or Ruler of the Rings?

Over hem in the tropical house, these bromeliads are gorgeous
Milberger's always has on the rocks good selection of 4" herbs, perennials, and annuals. On that visit I picked up several iciness herbs for my garden.
Pond plants are a large display presentday as well.
In addition to dappled, shrubs, and ornamental grasses, they have a selection of cacti stomach succulents
Planters of all types
Even outside their fence along significance Loop 1604 access road lawn grass selections are displayed manoeuvre style.
This one has my name on it. (Zorro is "fox" in spanish.)
They always possess a good stock of benches, statues, and garden art available.
A large gift and garden supply workshop is inside where several versions adequate Señor Zorro are on display.
Milberger's denunciation a full-service nursery including prospect design, installation, and maintenance services. I've always liked how description offices blend right in with say publicly nursery.
There's a Farmer's Market weekend mornings in the large deadlock parking lot.
